INSPIRATION

The story behind the music

Inspiration is the window into the soul of the album that shares the story behind the music. This album is a milestone of the efforts I’ve been pouring into music for the past decade.

All the inspiration, exposure to different styles, and life lived is reflected in my voice here. With a reflection of the years of a 24 year old man and an operatic background, I hope to bring a shine to jazz of just that: a man looking to make his mark and create the beginnings of a legacy in vocal performance.

My father comes to mind, specifically on the performance of “My Way.” I heard his version of the piece at 72 years old. In the beginning I tried to capture that essence but soon realized that it was years away.

Without my father I don’t know if I’d be in voice, and although he is no longer with us in the physical, he’s with me and my family still in spirit. Thank you Dad.

My biggest supporter, my mom, who is always encouraging, supportive, and sees my big dreams as clearly as I do, is forever close and near to my heart. This album is partly for you, to share the love through voice that you’ve nurtured and instilled within me.
